Title: Are the searches in version 0.25.0 disabled on purpose?
Post by: mythblstr on September 13, 2009, 03:49:39 am
I am brand new to Alt.binz and I just started using it yesterday. I see there are newer versions than 0.25.0 but they are not available to me. I also cannot find out why. Is it because they newer versions have working searches and you have to pay for them? Are the searches in V0.25.0 supposed to be disabled because It hasn't been paid for yet and do you have to purchase the newer versions?
Help! ???

Like most products, over time they develop new features, and fix bugs etc. The .25.0 is a fully functional at the time it was released. It's not intentionally crippled, but since the search functions that ABZ is built on may also have changed, they might not work after all this time.
It's recommended to upgrade via donation which gives you the latest version with all the new functionality and bug fixes built in.

So, in other words, you do have to pay for a fully functioning version?

Yes, as stated you have to donate to gain access to latest version. Or you can continue using 0.25 which is fully functional except for search engines. Or you can switch to some other usenet program.
