authenticating 'forum data login' hangs
« on: November 01, 2011, 02:16:20 am »
win7/64: I was using 0.31.2 since its release- until it start hanging on the 'forum data login' window (killing it w/ process explorer didn't flush it- i needed to logoff/on).  I downloaded 0.39.3 today, whacked the old appdata/local/altbinz directory- but still same problem. Read forums, changed directory locations, ran as admin, etc, etc to no avail. I did recently change the network from wireless to wired- could there be a stray config for network adapter binding? I searched the registry for 'binz' but aside from stray file association stuff- nothing noteworthy. Also- nothing is logged in the file either. Suggestions are welcome here. TIA.

SOLVED- after hours.... I finally read the AV pop-up (reading- it's a terrible thing) and it's been asking me if the new network was a public or home network- once i indicated home- it went through. Funny how you ignore those things that are always popping.
