Music searching...

I had a news client called NEWS ROVER that I used to search for music/MP3 files. It had a built in selection feature that when checked only brought back music results when searching. It was very easy to find music, concerts, stuff like that. With Alt it is a little harder. When I search it comes back with everything. Is there an easy or quick way to boil down searches based on what the file type/content is?

Remember that Alt.Binz search engines just implement the search functions provided by the given sites.  Check out the categories dropdown on the NZB.su tab - this will give you a filter. Otherwise adding file extensions to search strings works for most others.

I tried the NZB.su provider. Selected MP3 and searched for "ELTON JOHN". Surprisingly nothing came back. Is this site telling me it cannot find any MP3's by Elton John in the whole Usenet database? This is the only thing I miss about the old News Rover program. Their built-in search function was pretty good. All I needed to do was search for a Song name, singer, writer and it would come back with whatever it found.

I can't speak for the results of NZB.su in general, but that search does indeed return results for me.  Try double-checking your API key in Setup > Misc #3.

And simply adding '.mp3' to the search string returns a crapload from e.g. Mysterbin. I'm not sure how it could be any easier, to be honest.
