Broken Images
« on: March 23, 2008, 04:06:02 am »
Using 0.27.2. Not sure what is going on here, but it happens whenever I try to grab a collection of images. At least a quarter, usually closer to half of the images I grab are broken. I'm using Giganews and they download fine in Newsleecher. I'm assuming I set something wrong, perhaps not allowing them to finish. I should also mention that by broken, I mean that part appears to download to generate some size, but... the image doesn't work and doesn't show up in the thumbnail. It appears to download in full in the program though..

Any ideas?

Thanks.

Well... Nothing that seems unusual.

As a test. I did a supersearch of Angelina Jolie and grabbed every jpg I saw. About 25% of the first 1000 files were like this, then all of a sudden they all were. The last 500 or so, up to this point, are all like that. I know someone as popular as her isn't going to have that many corrupt photos and I know Giganews isn't going to have too many problems like that.

I get the standard skipping files log message for those that are there. No file ends up on the harddrive. For the files that do, they look something like:

[3/23/2008 1:52:10 AM] [T2] Article started 1/1 - full post file name.jpg 70272 bytes
[3/23/2008 1:52:14 AM] [T2] Article finished 1/1 file name only.jpg
[3/23/2008 1:52:14 AM] [Dec] Uuencode file file name only.jpg decoded in 10ms

That's it for all of them.
