hi, i just downloaded altbinz for the 1st time. I installed the program and input my server info (Astraweb) along with my correct username and password with port 119. For some reason, when I search, nothing comes up. Am I doing something wrong? I use Windows 7. here's my log:

I belive version 0.25 doesnt work for searching anymore due to how old it is.
You need to donate to get the latest version.

Also, the search tabs have nothing at all to do with your usenet server. Everything is taken from the indexing websites.

Thanks for the replies. I wish I could try Altbinz without having to pay for it first. There are a bunch of clients and I am having difficulty trying to figure out which one to get.

You can try Alt.Binz without paying for it. 0.25.0 is fully functional apart from the search engines. Load it up with NZBs and off you go.

that seems to be the problem. Perhaps I'm not searching in the correct manner but when I try to search for anything at all, it says "no results."
am I doing something wrong?

As I said, 0.25.0 is fully functional apart from the search engines. Follow Ascathon's link, there you will find direct links to the search sites that you can use through your browser.
