im trying to fetch the groups from hitnews and its just flashing "connecting" and "fetching from groups" really fast, iv tried putting my login and password in the server setup, yes i pressed apply lol still not connecting though, please help ???

hitnews will not work with all ISPs, are you sure it works with yours?

You do know that the fetched groups will only show up in the newsgroups tab? if it's still empty after lets say 5 min contact hitnews support. maybe hitnews doesn't support xpat any more... xennews doesn't support is.
fetching the groups in the search tabs has nothing to do with hitnews and is done otherwise
if you want to check if pw and accountname arre correct double-click the hitnews-server in settings.

ok so its been working all day, now all of a sudden it wont connect ??? just keeps sayin could not connect retry in 10 seconds and goes over and over :( please help lol

what is the exact error message?

it wasnt an error message it just wouldnt connect but its connected now :) i emailed the support and they said it was a problem with their routers or something but their status page didnt mention anything, i cant believe how long i used torrents for i feel so dumb! newsgroups f***ing rock! ;D
