For the last two years I have been a Torrent junkie. Nothing else to get hold of; films, music and TV episodes.
Recently I read an article on Newsgroups and as a result I thought this must be the way forward. I signed up for Giganews and I have been testing out alt.bits and Grabit.
Oh how I wish things were as simple as Torrents. Before I start rabbiting on about the issues which I am facing, is there anybody with a decent link to a FAQ which will tell me almost everything about Newsgroups? When I first started on torrents, I used something like:

But with Newsgroups so far, all I am finding is: incomplete file downloads ( the most irritating), new file types, different categories, confusing search results. etc, etc, .
All I am looking for here is a basic guide to Newsgrouops. If someone can provide something, I will be so grateful. I was really looking forward to joining the Newsgroup network (Christ, I have chosen to subscribe to Giganews and actually pay for something!!!!!!).
