NZB Play Option
« on: September 29, 2009, 03:26:12 am »
Firstly, I just want to say how great alt.binz is. I have tried many other news readers but I believe this is the best. Keep up the great work!

I have been using it for a while, but just recently noticed the nzbplay option. I have setup alt.binz to point to MPC (media player classic). I have also read how to use NZBPlay at the wiki page located here.

The only question I have, is how would you go about using the NZBPlay option if you have already started the NZB and its ~50% completed?

Thanks

You can run nzb play after the first rar is downloaded.
To play the file, highlight the collection and click the play button in the toolbar and the selected files should turn blue. Then when the first file is finished, it should open up in MPC. I had more luck witk KMplayer than MPC though.

Thanks, I already knew that though. The question was how to play something after it has already downloaded the first rar file. Because NZB Play does not work like that as far as I am aware.

Just a side note:

I've found that sometimes I'm forced to click the 'play' button (ctrl + w) two times to actually start playing the movie.

Am I missing something here? I went into setup, selected NZB Play on the left and browsed to the executable for VLC media player. I then right clicked on Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade 720p that is ~80% done and selected Play. At that point, the nzb changes colors from black to blue on the Downlaod Queue list and nothing happens. If I switch the player to MPC it does the same thing.

Yes you are. I guess you're using 0.25.0 which doesn't have ability to play in the middle of download.
