Title: Changed password and now can't access altbinz
Post by: aybee5ea on February 06, 2010, 10:25:38 am
Hello,

I've change my password and now can't get into altbinz.

I cleared the password and put in the new one and it says the "check is ok, restart altbinz". When I restart it just goes through the same dialogue ie "check is OK, restart altbinz".

I'm running under Wine (Linux). I have rebooted the pc etc and still no joy.

Can you help or advise?

You restarted it how? Closed it or killed the process? Obviously config is not saved on exit. Is "misc" dir in same directory as altbinz.exe?

Yup killed the process (only way with current Wine and current altbinz).

Ok, then do this: Enter login data, close that small login window, enter setup, press ok, kill alt.binz

Thanks. Using your suggestions, I ended up working it out.

To "complete" the "registration process" I used the previous version of altbinz which appears to be "more compatible" with Wine and then moved back to to the latest version after the "registration" had been recorded.
