Hello
I'am new here and I'am trying this programm for the first time.But I have a problem connecting.I'have added my payserver with the right password and username.4 connections on port 119.
But when I try to connect I get every time the same error
"could not connect with the description 281 OK"
What is going wrong?

What news provider is in question? Strange. 281 OK is returned when authentication is valid.

I'am using Xs news.That is a dutch payserver.
When I try to connect on this moment I'am getting the same message by action and by description it says "500 what"

At the moment author working on new ver so, wait a bit. I found on http://www.faqs.org/rfcs/rfc2980.html

500 Command not understood

Really strange, can u try at the moment free server www.easynews.nl, does it work?

I have try'd easynews and one other newsserver.Non of them are working.

Can you take a screenshot of setup->server screen and post the link to screenshot. I'm 100% sure you didn't enter something correctly

Other programs working ok? If they working ok, please close ABZ, rename misc subdirectory of ABZ directory to something else (you will lose all yours settings, but only temporary), start ABZ, add enter any server data (check port and number of connection) you like and try to connect. Is it working now? If it works then manually again setup ABZ, and if ABZ still can't connect close ABZ, delete misc subdirectory and rename your old misc directory (which you renamed before) again to misc, because there isn't problem with ABZ settings.

I'have tryed the other option,renaming the misc.That was not working.
