Connecting to Server Under Mac
« on: May 24, 2009, 07:40:23 pm »
Hello,
I recently started using altbinz under mac via crossover.  The program loads and runs perfectly and I am able to retrieve the default rss feed but I am unable to connect to my news server astraweb?  I have double checked settings and credentials and I am able to connect via unison with the same info.  I have tried all the options (select article, group command, ssl on and off, as well as all the servers they offer.

I am stumped since the program obviously has internet access since rss feeds work but won't do me much good without a server!  Pleas help if you can

Log file is just full of connecting.....could not connect...retrying

Are you able to add anything to the queue from RSS tab?  If not, you haven't logged in successfully (to altbinz.net for authentication, that is, remember you need to restart Alt.Binz).

Just to pick up on this, I've been able to test Alt.Binz with Darwine & Astraweb, and it has the same issue with starting multiple connections.  Adding connection threads manually is fine, but when Connect button is first clicked, only 1 or 2 threads connect, the others fail and have to be disabled.
