Keep alt.binz from auto joining files
« on: June 03, 2011, 09:00:43 am »
Hi there.
I there a option somewhere to keep Alt.binz from auto joining video files and still do par2 checking? It seems to join broken parts as well, then there's no way for me to spot which part actually failed to be obtained from the server.  :'( :'(

It's a nice feature, but i would like to be able to control it!  :D

Thx for help

There is no option for that. You can checkout log file to see exactly what part failed crc32 check while decoding.

[6/2/2011 4:41:50 PM] [Dec] Yenc file [WhyNot]_Level_E_-_05_[E00BA17B].mkv.011 decoded in 328ms

I redownloaded the part, but then it seemed to through all other parts out the window, coz if i manually run the par, the file is even less complete than before. inw it states that the only parts of the file present is the couple of blocks from part 11.

And yes, the time difference in dowloaded parts is big, coz i'm in South Africa and only have a 384kbps line. 4mbps is our max and it's way to expensive.

switching off the par2 check fixes my problem, but now i have to go and manually download the par files if there is blocks missing from a download.

Any chance this will be added to the software if i put in a request for it?

Thx again, u helped a lot!!

Few things are not clear:

-Who pressed "Connect" button at 4:02:36 PM ? Threads were downloading part 11 when they were shut down.
-Computers don't just restart on its own? Faulty HW?

From log it's clear part 11 is missing lots of articles. So, you redownload part11, put it in same dir as previous joined file and run quickpar to see the damage.

Alt.binz is in the pc's startup, and the auto push connect button option is on.  Faulty hw might very well be an issue, its a old pc only for downloading purposes. (been my downloading maching for the past two years)  ;)
I should add that power in SA ain't the most stable thing. We get losts of power cuts and dips.

yes, redownloaded to the same dir, but it just skipped the file, stating that it already exists. Downloaded it to new dir and tried to join with no luck.

Thx again for the reply!  :D :D :D

Something to add:
Reason download stoped.  Wife disconnected because it was using all the bandwith.
Reason for restart. She clicked the yes button when Avast prompted to restart pc inorder to complete update.

Still dont know why the file failed to download after that though?!

Later  :D
