Remote Control Alt.Binz
« on: February 09, 2011, 05:40:50 pm »
I want to use another monitor-less PC with AltBinz to download. Is there anyway to fully control and add files to that AltBinz from another computer?

Not within Alt.Binz itself (if you want complete control), although you can get partial control for things like autoimporting NZBs (drop them into the designated folder).

Presumably you're already using Remote Desktop or the like? That's really the best option with a desktop client like Alt.Binz, otherwise you're looking at something like SABnzbd for a full remote API (via the webserver it runs in the b/g). There's an open request for something similar for Alt.Binz, though ... somewhere ... ;)

I will look into SABnzbd.

So If I want to control Alt.Binz on the other computer, I need to use Remote Desktop? Do I need Windows 7 on both computers for that to work?

All non-Home editions of Windows since XP will be fine.  This is what you need:
