Multiple RSS Feed URLS
« on: March 22, 2011, 07:08:02 pm »
Hi,

I'm looking to donate to get AltBinz. I'm moving over from SabNZB. I've searched the forums and can't find a clear answer with regards to multiple RSS support. I see people suggest merging feeds with RSSMIX or Yahoo Pipes,  but that's a sloppy feature and don't want to do that. I did see in the revision history "v0.31.3 Multiple RSS feeds feature". Does this mean I can paste an RSS feed and add it to a list and ever few hours it will check through all of them and auto merge the feeds? If it's allowed could someone please post a print screen of how this looks?

the way to use the feature right would be. url1 as standart just like always. stop timer type url2 but instead of of pushing timer use add rss feed. a new window opens where u can enter the apropriate filters, then minimize the window and do the same for url3 and so forth.
there are two things that make the use of lets say 3 or 4 feeds somehow unpleasent:

the first being that each new rssfeed will be displayed as a seperate window under Alt+Tab if Alt.Binz is not in tray.
the second drawback is that right now all new rssfeeds get lost once u exit Alt.Binz.
So using the feature in this early stage only makes sense if Alt.Binz is almost permanently in tray and if u either rarely exit Alt.Binz or are willing to recreate ur feeds from doc after each exit.

Are those points by davidq666 still valid or has dev work been done to resolve those issues?

Sorry for all teh questions.

Thanks :)

Current status is the same. However I'm currently working on improving it.
