Hello,

I am new to the usenet world and have a quick question. When i try to grab a 500 Meg file it ends up being around 1.2 Gb when i start the download of the files.. It is just a SD one hour show so not sure why it more that doubling in size once the dowload starts.

I am using alt.binz as my client.

I am just curious as to if this is the norm or am i doing something wrong.
any help would be appreciated.

Could you describe exactly what you're seeing on the Queue tab?  You import an NZB, and in the Size column it's listed as 500 MB? Then you say that you start downloading, and then Size changes to 1.2 GB? Or at what point does the size change exactly?

Enable detailed logging to monitor exactly what Alt.binz is downloading and why (watch the Log tab).

When i search for a file...say from Merlins Portal it is advertised as 500MB but when i import it into Alt.Binz for download, it shows as 1.2 GB.

i have expanded the collection and things look normal...just seems like there are extra RAR files included

So, if there are few extra rars included, shouldn't that be question for the site you grabed nzb from?

I did post the question there and got no answer so i thought i might try here to see if i had something configured wrong in the client.
