Title: Downloading but not saving to hard drive

This program is downloading the file and not saving it to a temp file.  I am a super noob with this.  It says its connected to the news.telus.net server.  I entered my username and pass.  It connects, downloads in 0 kbs and does not save a thing.  It does not seem to even write to hard disk.  It just makes my router/firewall flicker like crazy.  Do I have to let the port though on my firewall or something.  I have read the forums and still can not come up for a reason behind this.  Please help.

If you check your log you'll see that server probably replied with 430 Article doesn't exist. So either your server doesn't carry binaries or articles are out of retention range or your server is amongs the ones that require playing with 'Select group' and/or 'article cmd' under server properties.

so this means what exactly?  I can't use the isp news server then?  What could you recommend as a free alternative server.

That means you should check the log first to confirm. Then play with the settings and only then look for alternatives. I don't have any recommendations.
