Title: error 11001
Post by: scrubber on June 07, 2016, 10:37:51 am
Cannot get further than this error message on  any attempt to download from server address.
Is this a useful pointer to where the trouble lies?

Thanks

Doublecheck that server address is correct.

I'm seeing this error appear as well, it seems to be a dns resolution type error or maybe a timeout error - because I know for a fact my server addresses are correct - it happens to me most often when my connection is saturated

 - except that once resolved, the ip address should be cached in your local dns cache, so why are they appearing?

My guess is that it attempts to open a connection to the usenet server on either 119 or 563 (or whatever ports you happen to use) and there is no response, so a timeout error is could also be manifesting as error 11001?

always worth considering the following commands in a command prompt:

ipconfig /release
ipconfig /flushdns
ipconfig /renew

See if the problem continues - sometimes windows dns cache needs a clean.  This can also be achieved by a reboot, but why restart when a couple of command lines often will fix the issue?  :P

I'm still seeing the 11001 - interestingly I had two instances of Alt.binz running on two different machines with two different IP addresses - as you may know Astra subscription accounts wont allow multiple IP addresses, and I started seeing error 11001 on both machines as they both fought to access Astra, meanwhile another Level 0 primary provider who is a little more relaxed to allowing multiple IPs was happy for both machines to connect at the same time.

So again, I feel that while it could be a DNS related issue, it could also be a timeout - in this case, Astra's system rejecting my multi-attempted connect and not just responding with "Multiple IP address detected etc etc" but blocking the request altogether and if the TCP request to the port isn't acknowledged, then an error 11001 might be displayed.

rdl, you might be able to confirm/deny my analysis?  cheers.

I am getting this error too. I am using NewsHosting. I can connect and download fine in Newshosting own Client but unable to do in altbinz.  Please help. I have recheck the server information multiple times.
