Connection Panel Status Bars not updating properly
« on: October 04, 2008, 08:14:04 am »
High guys,

Has anyone come across an issue with Alt.Binz not updating the progress bar of a server connection during an article transfer? With my client’s connection panel I have 4 concurrent connections to my ISP’s news server, as the articles are downloaded in the status column appears a connection transfer value i.e. 76.4kB/s but the progress bar does not progress from left to right as the article is downloaded what you notice once the article is downloaded the progress bar will flash solid for a second and then the next article download begins a transfer value appears for the connection in the connection panel and the progress bar in the status bar remains empty till the end of the article download. This occurs for all active connections to my ISP’s mail server.

The strange thing is I remember it updating status bars for the transfer’s just fine, I wonder it has something to do with my virus scanner (avast free) that has newsgroup article scanner that scans incoming data streams that use the newsgroup protocol.

Has anyone else experienced this or is it just me?

I think it's your scanner. I met the same problem once, caused by a firewall with webguard ability.
Replaced the firewall with an other one, problem solved.
Don't let your scanner get involved with Altbinz + incoming data streams.

"ISP's mail server"?

Anyway, you can answer this question for yourself by disabling avast & firewall temporarily.
