It took me a while to notice this because I don't generally add more nzbs to my queue while one is already downloading. But I finally did, and noticed that the import as paused is is no longer working for me if I open the nzb directly from Firefox. I suspect this is related to a change in Firefox "Open With" file download behavior that started in release 98 (but I am not sure since I did not notice immediately). I am currently on release 102.0.1.
How it acted in the past:
When I click on a browser link to download an nzb, a dialog box appears with two options: "Open With" or "Save file". When I let it open with Alt.Binz (default) the nzb is downloaded to a temp directory, and then opened in Alt.Binz. The nzb that opens in Alt.Binz is paused. Later when Firefox is closed, the nzb in the temp folder is removed.
How it acts today:
When I click on a browser link to download an nzb, a dialog box appears with two options: "Open With" or "Save file". When I let it open with Alt.Binz (default) the nzb is downloaded to my default download folder (F:\Downloads), and then opened in Alt.Binz. The nzb that opens in Alt.Binz is NOT paused. Later when Firefox is closed, the nzb remains in the default download folder until I manually remove it.
However, If I choose to just download the nzb (using "Save File" instead of "Open With") then navigate into the default download folder and manually click the nzb, then it does open in Alt.Binz as paused. It only seems to be an issue when using "Open With" from Firefox.
Lots of people complained about this new method because it leaves files on your drive that in the past would have been deleted in the temp folder. But so far, Firefox does not appear to be changing course. I realize this may be more of a Firefox issue than an Alt.Binz issue, but I wanted to bring it up and see if there is any way for me to get Alt.Binz to recognize the current Firefox "Open With" method to trigger "Import as paused on dbl click" the way it used to.
Thanks.
