I have an issue with version 0.27.1 running on an Intel Quad Core Q6600, 2 GB ram, XP SP2 and a SATAII drive. A very fast 20 Mb/s internet connection.
Using Giganews with a 20 connection subscription.
The problem:
When starting to download something - the download thread starts and starts reaching 100% - this is when the decoding thread kicks in and then Alt.Binz freezes for about 20-30 seconds (other programs keep functioning and the task manager doesn't show more than 20% cpu load for Alt.Binz) and then returns to life only to have the same problem when the next decoding thread starts (seconds later).
The drive is very large and quite empty (700 GB free).
What could this be?
