Can't log in

I have 31.6 and suddenly it doesn't work at all.

Doesn't even log in. >:(

I don't really know where to begin trouble shooting.

Would it be best if I un-installed the existing copy and just re-installed a fresh copy of 0.31.6?

Obviously moving all my download to anothe folder first.

I have my usenet login details but I do I need something to use the alt.binz search?

OK, do you mean you're having trouble logging in to your usenet server, or logging in to Alt.Binz itself at startup?  Could you tell us exactly what you're seeing/what's happening? Could you also check your Alt.Binz Log for any messages.

This might go a tiny bit quicker if you have access to IRC and go to #alt.binz @ EFNet and ask for help there.

When I click on Log there is nothing at all.

are there any special caraters in the password like umlauts?
did u change your forums password?
if yes did u change it in alt.binz aswell?
do u use a vpn service when loggin in?

I have my forum username and password stored on google chrome.

I try to put that into the dialogue box on start up but it comes back with error.



Is my exe is modified? How would I cure that?

Get rid of the thing that modifies your altbinz.exe and then download fresh one and try.

Note if filesize is different (the one in the zip file and the one you have unpacked)

Hmmm. Deleted everything alt.binz and installed a new copy.

Old .exe was 2,126KB, new one was a different size. Everything worked fine.

Booted up today and broken again. exe 2,126KB again.

Can't be bothered messing about with anti-virus promiseware will have to format the HDD.

Do make sure that you also change *all* of your passwords on the clean machine - Alt.Binz, Firefox, IE, mail, Steam, etc.
