Slow Download speed... incomplete files...

Hello,
since some weeks now i have servival problems.

Windows 7
AltBinz 0.39.11
40Mbit/s
Xennews UseNet

Some files, most some older or tv series are just incomplete (only 95% or 97%) and very slow download (instead of 30mbit+ only about 10mbits)...

Where is the problem, my usenet provider or the search enginges i use? Does the search enginges make differences in incompletnes or slow download speed? (shouldnt, right?)

Check your Log tab for explanations for why those articles weren't downloaded - most likely lots of Article Not Found error messages, and yes this is an issue for your NSP. Try another provider and you'll know for sure.

If they're 95% complete, you should be able to repair them with any included PAR2s. Unless you meant 95% incomplete?

No, the search engine doesn't make a difference. All NZBs point to the same message IDS, regardless.

He doesnt write it to file and, ofc, i also cant download the par files... yea, i get many article not found errors, BUT WHY HE Dls 97% and then "oh there is nothing" - thts what i dont understand.

That was what i thought. But i see different speeds on "same" files on different search enginges... i dont understand.

Look at that 97% as the progress of trying to download - it doesn't mean that it has downloaded it. How can we know if articles are on the server or not if we don't try to go throught them all.
Regarding search engines - most likely you're expiriencing cached response - so second try (via second search engines) gives faster response.

The files only need 3% to be finished - it loads with 10mbits and then, article not found...

How do you know it needs 3% to be finished? Par2 tab say so or what?

I've had the same issue for the past few versions.  Any older posts I try to download >30 to 50 days (just a guess) and it is extremely slow and usually doesn't finish.

I just downloaded grabit 1.7.2 and have had no issue.  Same newsserver.   

I wasn't going to mention it as I thought it was 'just me' but since someone else has sort of the same issue I figured i'd bring it up so RDL or whomever can check to make sure everything is working as it should.
