Hi,
I am trying to move Altbinz into a virtual Download machine on my ESXi server that download and store files on a shared nas storage (Seagate Blackarmor).
Downloading work but unpacking and moving to the correct folder doesn't. The VM is windows 7 with 2 cpu's and 1gig RAM.
Has any one done this? Where can I look to see why un-raring and moving to the unpack folder fails.
Thanks,
Wynand

How is NAS mapped to system running alt.binz? Shared folder? As a drive?
-
2 drives mapped. One for download and one for unrarred content.
Temp directory is on "local" c: drive.
-
So, to be clear:
temp is on local C drive
download is on mapped network drive D (for example) which is mapped to \\NAS\Download
unrar is on mapped network drive E (for example) which is mapped to \\NAS\Unrar
Download to D works, but unraring to E fails?
Could you try the same config outside VM? If the results are the same I'll try to recreate same settings and take a look.
-
That's correct.
I went back to my original machine and mapped the drives:
y:\ --> \\nas\download
z:\ --> \\nas\unrarred
It download fine but does not unpack to a shared folder.
Thanks for the help.

I've just tried similar setup and no problems at all.
Please turn detailed logging on, download something and once unrar fails send me log file (link ->PM)

Hi,
Thanks for the reply. I did some testing and I think its the Windows 7 VM that opens to many file handles to the same NAS. The Windows VM also has an ISCSI drive that it boots from on the same NAS. When doing downloads and unpacking at the same time things go tilt. I am busy moving the Machine drive to another NAS and will post the results.
When doing downloads and unpacking from my game rig to the NAS all works fine as well.
Thanks again for the help. Thanks for the new RSS stuff. Works like a charm.
