as in the title, how do I connect multiple threads from giganews to altbinz?

Check Setup->Servers again.  ::) ???

Load up alt.binz , click Setup button , go to Servers on the left , add news.giganews.com and number of connections (the part you asked about) + port number and username/password , then click Apply :)
