Similar problem as before with Database Errors
« on: February 25, 2018, 07:04:59 pm »
Back in January I had this issue and you (RDL) fixed it remotely - nothing has changed but as of today:

If I run Alt-Binz as Administrator, no prolems.
If I run it as myself(member of Administrators), which I always have done in the past, I get this series of errors
Error while converting old RSS data to a new database format
Error while initializing newsnab DB
Error while initializing download history DB
Error while initializing speed&quota history DB
Error while initializing misc. stat DB
SQLite3 Error 1 - cannot rollback - no transaction is active.
Starts up and when I close I get
SQLite3 Error 1 - cannot rollback - no transaction is active.

Security profile for the Folder "C:\Program Files\Altbinz" shows
Permissions inherited from "None"
The Group "Administrators" has full control of This folder, all files and sub-folders
The Group "Users" has full control control of This folder, all files and sub-folders
I have full control of This folder, all files and sub-folders

Properties of the Folder "C:\Program Files\Altbinz" shows read-only Files and If I try to remove that I get one error after another: "The system cannot find the path"
The error dialog doesn't show the full path but it appears to be at least every file in /misc

From the Folder "C:\Program Files\Altbinz" I ran attrib *.* /S | clip, pasted the results into a text editor and all 53 files are +A only
Properties shows 60 files

From the Folder "C:\Program Files\Altbinz" I ran attrib -R -A -S -H *.* /S /D
Same thing - attrib shows 53, properties shows 60 files, 9 folders, some read-only and errors when I try to unset Read Only

The "misc" folder is in Program Files/Altbinz
There is no altbinz folder in any user/AppData folder at all. Nothing new has been installed recently. I am again stumped. I used AltBinz yesterday with no issues.

Try creating "c:\AltBinz". Copy all folders/files from "c:\Program Files\Altbinz" to "c:\AltBinz". Create new shortcut that runs "c:\AltBinz/altbinz.exe". Try running that and then try setting run as administrator for that shortcut. If that doesn't help, Teamviewer is always option.

Last night I started Alt.Binz normally (not as Admin) and it came up with no errors, same thing just a minute ago. Nothing at all was done to make that work as it almost always has.
