need a second account for your lap top?
« on: November 02, 2020, 11:32:09 pm »
Hi,
I am getting a lap top and I have had an account here for many many years and have always used it on one pc. What if I use one when I travel. Do I need to buy a second Alt Binz account for that?
How does it work if you have two personal computers ( one desk top and one laptop) and you want to use Alt Binz on both. But one is more secondary like when you travel.

I don't see any problem using your account on laptop.

Thanks RDL.
Something came up that I have never seen before. I got the rar file for the new version. 47.2.2 Downloaded to my desktop and then I unrar it on my desktop then move them into my Alt Binz folder where the download folder is. I create a shortcut then I drag it to my short cuts to my task bar. Been doing that for years. It works for a day and then it comes up saying it cannot find the specified path and that it is in recycle bin to restore but I hit restore and it still comes up with error.
It says Unable to Load F:\Alt Binz\downlaod\openssl\libeay32.dll. Error #0.
I click OK. An error comes up and it says Cannot create file F:\Alt Binz\Download\misc\addtoqueryhistory.abc. The system can not find path specified.

I have been doing this for years and no issue.
I just pulled the rar file and opened it in the same folder as the restof the files instead of dragging them form desktop. It is working now but will it tomorrow?
Thanks

no logic in unpacking it to "F:\Alt Binz\download" instead of "F:\Alt Binz"

Do you mean it shouldn't matter? Whether I unpack to desktop and copy the files over or unpack in Alt Binz or within that folder.
That's what I thought.
I have been doing those things for years. But since I updated to 47.2.2. it loses its path somehow.

Also it is still working. It seems after a day then it stopped. I didn't notice right away but happened twice to me.

I mean that based on folders you wrote - it seems that you're unpacking altbinz to "F:\Alt Binz\Download\" instead of "F:\Alt Binz\" as _MY_ logic dictates.
What I can tell you for sure that nothing was changed in latest versions which would suddenly make problems.

Sorry not sure why it is doing this . I tried extracting file right to the alt Binz folder. See if that changes it.
Not sure why it works for awhile then loses that path it says.
I will keep trying to figure it out.

Yes extracting file to the Alt Binz folder worked.  What I did was saved to Desktop and then extracted there and then copied it to a folder in Alt Binz plus on my desktop task bar. So I changed the path that was originally designated I guess.
I had done that in the past but I guess with Windows 10 you need to not move the path it is originally designated to.
But all good - it is working fine. Thanks for your help Rdl.
