Installed and connected to my usenet server without incident.
If I search for a file, no results are returned, from any search engine
The log response for a failed search is thus

If I import a .nzb file, alt.binz goes through the motions of downloading, but nothing downloads, and the download speed remains at zero.
Thank you in advance for your help.

On the search engines in 0.25.0, please read:

https://www.altbinz.net/forum/help-5/search-engines-in-0-25-0/

As for downloading, enable detailed logging to see what's going on ... it's hard to tell without specific info, your Log should have all the answers.

Thank you for the quick response.  I see that I can't search because none of the engines function with this version.  I would have attached a screenshot of the log as it is "downloading" from an imported .nzb, but there does not seem to be any means of doing so, and I have no web site where I could post it.

The log rejects every piece, saying each time that it can't retrieve, I should join a news group first.  In the bottom panel it shows the news group that I belong to, Unliminews, and as far as I know it is connected to it.  Certainly I gave it all the relevant data, address id and password in Settings.

The log shows the .nzb file that it failed to download before.  Thinking maybe there was something wrong with this .nzb file, I tried importing a different .nzb file, but alt.binz refused to import that one.  I selected it and pressed Open as usual, but nothing happened, the file name did not appear in the top panel.

And I've now tried it a different way.  I went to NZBmatrix and downloaded a third .nzb file, and fed it directly to alt.binz via firefox download dialog box.  Alt.binz shows this file in its top panel, it shows "Connected & Authenticated" to Unliminews in the bottom panel, but nothing is happening, and I can't find any method to induce alt.binz to begin downloading it.  I've Disabled and re-Enabled Unliminews, started another thread for it, nothing.

Under server propertie, there's 'Select group' checkbox. Try playing with it - don't forget to apply and disconnect/reconnect

OK, I have it working now, and it is downloading.  Instead of just reinstalling the program, this time I uninstalled it, deleted all the AltBinz folders and deleted every .nzb on my system, and began again with everything fresh.  Thank you all for your help.
