I have tried many times, but it never works
I've tried in a web browser and it gives the error:
"Error: Authentication failed - Username/password changed? You will need to get a new feed link for the feed to work again."
Is this still working for anybody? I'm entering the details correctly as described in the wiki and sticky guide below:
"Newzbin RSS & Cookies
From version 0.25.1, Alt.binz also supports direct download from Newzbin RSS feeds. These feeds require special configuration of the URL, since the user account needs to be verified. The following should be added to the end of your Newzbin RSS feed URL:
&fauth=<fauth_ID>:COOKIE:NzbSmoke=<nzbsmoke_code>;NzbSessionID=<session_ID>
The <fauth_ID>, <nzbsmoke_code> and <session_ID> parameters need to be replaced with the correct values. To get the right cookie info, go to Newzbin page, log in and type in the URL box:
javascript:document.cookie
This should open a new page with active cookies that you can copy/paste. To get the <fauth_ID>, just navigate to a Newzbin RSS page and copy from the URL.
Note: If NZBs downloaded this way don't load in Alt.binz, and when opened in Notepad show only html code, then the above parameters haven't been configured properly. "

OK, just tested again, make sure that feed=atom is changed to feed=rss., and that you have new fauthID and cookie info. It's working fine again here.

Does it work for you in firefox or internet explorer?
Oh and can you try this while your at it(In a web browser):
http://v3.newzbin.com/search/?q=prison+break&searchaction=Search&fpn=p&group=alt.binaries.tv+alt.binaries.multimedia&category=8&area=-1&u_nfo_posts_only=0&u_url_posts_only=0&u_comment_posts_only=0&u_v3_retention=8640000&sort=ps_edit_date&order=desc&areadone=-1&feed=rss&fauth=.........
add on your fauth, sessionid etc to the end of the link
cheers

Nope, I can't get your url to work in Alt.Binz - in fact, none that check more than one group or query show titles. Just this type:
http://v3.newzbin.com/search/?searchaction=Search&fpn=p&group=alt.binaries.multimedia&category=-1&area=-1&u_nfo_posts_only=0&u_url_posts_only=0&u_comment_posts_only=0&u_v3_retention=12096000&sort=ps_edit_date&order=desc&u_post_results_amt=50&areadone=-1&feed=rss&fauth=
Don't know why yours aren't working properly anymore, I guess it's something about the underlying xml that Alt.Binz doesn't like. Rdl will need to look into this for you.

Actually, scotch that, this did work when I grabbed the fauth for the specific RSS feed:
http://v3.newzbin.com/search/?q=prison+break&searchaction=Search&fpn=p&group=alt.binaries.multimedia+alt.binaries.tv&category=-1&area=-1&u_nfo_posts_only=0&u_url_posts_only=0&u_comment_posts_only=0&u_v3_retention=12096000&sort=ps_edit_date&order=desc&u_post_results_amt=50&areadone=-1&feed=rss&fauth=
So, set up your search in Newzbin, get results, click on RSS link, copy whole url with fauth, change feed=atom to feed=rss, then add :COOKIE info.
Phew. :)

thanks for the help, I've being messing about with it myself
That example will only work for prison break (which you more than likely knew unlike me!), was hoping it was possible to get it to search anything, but unfortunately gives a username/password error if you search for another show.
-
It will work for any search if you start from scratch each time, as above - you need to get a new fauth for each RSS feed.

wich version are you using? (check "about button" in alt.binz if you are unsure)

OK, meh: this feature was implemented in version 0.25.1. Since 0.25.0 was the last free version, and you are not a contributor, you must be using 0.25.0, therefore it won't work for you.
PM me when you become a contributor and this thread will be unlocked again.
