hello guys - first off wonderful job on the prog - seems i have the same problem described ! downloads will auto UNRAR but the prog will not UNRAR to the desired unrar directory and will not delete the Rar archives after a successful unrar - seems to be a bug - will try out the NZB directory some1 advised above and will post the results here.
using version 0.25.0 27/09/2007

cheers

Think i Figured it Out
« Reply #16 on: October 19, 2007, 04:29:12 am »
i think most ppl who have noticed this problem must of played around with options after starting a download .
i tried what the poster b4 said about unticking the option "make nzb subdir" and it solved the problem - this was done while NO downloads were active or initiated in pause - CLEAR SCREEN . so i said to my self - bah the program must of needed a fresh restart / no downloads in session to initiate the changes made in the options - so i rechecked the MAKE NZB sub directories - restarted the prog - and started a new download session with a new imported NZB - Lo and behold - the prog beautifly downloaded with a nzb sub dir , unrared , deleted archives and empty folder and transfered the unrared file to the proper directory assigned ! BEAUTY   :P
So i guess  Some Unrar/DIR options settings require : A. No downloads initiated /NO  nzb imported/ NO download paused   or B. A Program Restart after Changing settings when.

Hope this helps

It's B :) I made an error in 0.25.0. As a result, unrar settings do need program restart. Already fixed.

Default download folder won't auto-clean

hello everybody!

first of all, let me say that i just recently decided to try alt.binz and i have to say, it's the best newsgroups program i tested so far (better that sabnzb, grabit, newsleecher)

there's only one little thing that bugs me. i have the same issues like the threadstarter.

i tried the restarting tipp mentioned above and voila - the rar and par files were deleted.

however, the folder itsself still won't be deleted. i suspect it's because inside the folder there's a file left (e.g. an nfo file)?

how can i make sure that the folder gets deleted once everything is unrared?

thanks for any help!

try "move to Unrar folder" in Setup->Unrar and set "*.nfo" to move

or just don't download the nfos (Setup->NZB ->"Import as paused: nfo files")

thanks for the quick answer! I'll try the second option...

btw, when i checked the box in the options menu you mentioned, i saw that by default the par files are paused as well.

i'm curious: does this mean in case of an incomplete download i have to trigger the download of the par files myself or is alt.binz similar to, say, hellanzb in that regard? what i mean: will it start to download the paused par files automatically once it's clear the rar archives need repair?

Well seems it's still not fixed in 0.27.0, same problem here.

Seeing as you're a 'Registered User' rather than a 'Contributor', you don't have access to 0.27.0, therefore you're still using 0.25.0.  You'll need to donate to get versions after 0.25.0.

Well seeing i just clicked the info button in altbinz and it says 0.27.0 even while the titlebar gives 0.25.0 that is maybe a new bug ? :-) Or shoud i call it an undocumented feature ?

More than enough time wasted on this topic, methinks.
