I downloading something using alt.binz then at the end of the download im guessing alt.binz was unraring the file, however i noticed a file called par2.exe was running and using about 24% cpu usage

What is par2.exe and is it supposed to run?

It's the program that does the file checking and repairing, and yes everything's OK.
