Hi,

I've been using alt.binz for a while now, but I'm completely stumped as to this issue -- it's never even come up when running under Wine/Crossover on Linux/Mac.

Basically, I've got a home-made Windows Home Server, which is basically Windows Server 2003 with some extra features.  I've installed alt.binz and everything runs perfectly EXCEPT the par2 repair feature.  It can see when parts are missing and auto-download PAR2 files and even check the additional PAR2 files for consistency, but can't seem to actually repair the files for whatever reason.

Here is the relevant part of the logfile:
[1/17/2009 9:39:19 PM] [PAR2&Unrar] "\\server\public\sausages.par2" Par2 repair started
[1/17/2009 9:39:20 PM] [PAR2&Unrar] "\\server\public\sausages.par2" Par2 repair failed

As you can see, there's almost no detail as to why it fails.  For the time being, I'm copying the files to another machine to repair with a dedicated PAR2 program, but this isn't an ideal solution.

Anyone know how to fix this?  Thanks in advance!

The par2.exe program doesn't support UNC paths, it seems, as reported elsewhere:

Did you try to map it to a drive instead?

That fixed it, thanks!

PS. For anyone else using WHS, I mapped the default download/unpar folder to "D:/shares/public/" instead.
