Passworded files problem
« on: February 26, 2021, 11:04:11 pm »
using Alt Binz v0.47.3.0

omgwtfnzbs search tab, and have API Key installed, files download fine, but it seems they are not being decoded if password protected.

for example these 2
Sensation.2021.WEBRip.x264-ION10
Tom.and.Jerry.2021.1080p.WEBRip.x265-RARBG

Passwords are available on the omgwtfnzbs forum, and it does say they should be handled automatically by several programs, one of which is Alt Binz.

So, is there a glitch? or have I got something screwed in my settings again  ::) ... or does it only auto apply the password if you have auto unpack set ?

I'm not in the habit of having Alt.Binz extract / unrar my files, but I thought I'd give this a shot.

Setup:
I am on Alt.Binz 0.47.3 (in portable mode).
I do not have Autounrar active.
I only have 3 tabs visible in Alt.Binz: Download queue, PAR2, and Log.
All my nzb's import as paused, and I have to manually start them.
I don't use the search function within Alt.Binz, but there is currently only one copy of each of your examples, so I'm confident I'm grabbing the correct one.
I verified that the nzb contains a password meta tag by opening it in wordpad.

Test 1 (This is how I personally use Alt.Binz to unrar on rare occasion):
I loaded the "Sensation.2021.WEBRip.x264-ION10" nzb.
I unpaused the set and it downloaded with no trouble.
After the download completed, I switched to the par2 tab, highlighted the release (which is an obfuscated filename), right clicked, and selected "Unrar PAR2/SFV set".
The passworded set extracted with no trouble.

Test 2:
I loaded the "Sensation.2021.WEBRip.x264-ION10" nzb.
I selected the set on the Download queue tab, right clicked, and selected "Unrar"
I unpaused the set and it downloaded with no trouble.
As soon as the download completed, the passworded set automatically extracted with no trouble.

Is there a different way you are trying to have Alt.Binz extract the passworded set?

ok, lets put this down to operator error :o

I think it threw me because there was no warning of a password prior to downloading, thanks btw :)

Hi,

I have a similar problem. I get my NZB from Miatrix and the password is in the header tags in the nzb
e.g
Code: [Select]
<head>
 <meta type="password">5zVWsxr6Eba4zgOEkByr7yO5Zaq7syz1</meta>
</head>

Using Alt.binz 0.47.3.6

At the moment it downloads and recombines the files into one password protected volume. If I try and do the process mentioned above, e.g. Unrar from Par2 tab it simply states "joining failed" and deletes the archive. meaning I need to download again.

Alt.binz can read the password as the "set unrar password" option in the Par2 tab shows the correct password.

Doing the second option, then it shows as 100% joined but still does not extract the passworded file

Log shows
Code: [Select]
[11/09/2021 13:24:56] [T35] Connected & Authenticated (usenet farm) - 200 Welcome at Usenet.Farm (fe9)
[11/09/2021 13:25:03] [PAR2&Unrar] Source dir: D:\+Alt.Binz+\----.S01E08.720p.HEVC.265-MeGusta-Akad\
[11/09/2021 13:25:03] [PAR2&Unrar] Unrar dir: D:\+Alt.Binz+\----.S01E08.720p.HEVC.265-MeGusta-Akad\----.S01E08.720p.HEVC.265-MeGusta-Akad
[11/09/2021 13:25:43] [Main] Download queue autosaved in 0ms
[11/09/2021 13:25:43] [Main] PAR2 Info autosaved in 0ms
(I have replaced the file title with ---- above, but the log does show everything fine.)

Is this because the combined passworded file is a 7zip file rather than rar?

i'm going to resurrect this thread, as the query i have is related to my original problem.

so, from the above, as you can see i usually download the files and do nothing with them, no auto repair, no unrar, i do it manually as required.

The Issue:
Just recently more and more files from omgwtfnzbs are being password protected, this is annoying to say the least, as i no longer have free newsgroup access, so in the past i'd just re-download with the unrar option on, now i keep having to go and retrieve the password from their website

The Question:
In the past, passworded file sets had a small lock displayed next to them in the search results section....... is this still a thing? i've looked everywhere in the settings and dispaly options for columns (right click menu) to see if there is an option to turn that on/off
