Problems w/ 33.4
« on: December 27, 2010, 07:37:27 am »
Just saw there was the new version today.  Deleted previous versions and set up as before (had screen shots for emergencies).  Now it will not connect and download.  It doesn't want to take my server log in info.  I type in, hit Apply and nothing.  I have restarted many times.  Any "off the cuff" suggestions.  I appreciate it.  Thank you for your help and belated Merry Christmas, if applicable.

I've just downloaded & installed 0.33.4, and it works fine.

Mind you, I did not delete the previous version, all I did was to shut down Alt.Binz and overwrite all the files.

Maybe try to click on add as primary? And make sure it's checked

Yes, I have checked, rechecked etc.  I cannot get my log in to apply in the server options.  I changed my password, just for sh*its and grins.  Uninstalled, installed, disabled by AVG.  No version will connect now and it is freezing up alot.

misc is located in the alt. binz folder with log, nzb, queue and temp.  All of this comes directly under Desktop for some reason.  This computer has so many drives I don't know what is going on.

I'm baaack.  I went to usenet and they said change my password and wait 15 minutes.  Did this.  The password will not take on the server form -Service Requires Authentication.  I click the box and type in the usenet name and password and apply but when I open it again, it isn't there.  Also how do I manually sign into alt.binz.  When I click on the program it opens and throws up the log in window, fills it in and disappears.  Is that me or the program?

Remove all folders except 'lang' from altbinz root folder and you'll be fine.

Well I got rid of the error message.  Now it doesn't do anything and I still can't get it to accept my usenet name and password on the server setup page.  Also does not let me change the port number (0) or the number of connections.

What do you mean by doesn't let you change port number?
You enter the port and it's still 0?

Please take a few screenshots through the steps you're making while entering server properties

the print screen won't paste.  Yes, it will not let me change the port, log in or anything on that part except add or delete the server.

Uninstalled everything and got .25 working, for about 10 minutes.  The error I receive is:  Access violation at address 0040E450 in module alt.binz.exe. Read of address 0581CF20.   I guess we are on different schedules so it doesn't appear I will get this resolved any time soon.   i would take .25 again and never complain again right about now.

Read the FAQ about relation between changing forum password and altbinz.
