Hey, i signed up for powerusenet and have an account.

i have an account at nzbs.org aswell

i downloaded alt.binz

now what do i do to start downloading? im a bit confused and frustrated  :oops:

hers another quick question, im using nzbs.org right now to find my files.?

i got it working, only thing is, there not in .avi format  Sad

what do i need to download to turn these 45 diffrent .rar files into avi so i can them convert them to play on my dvd playing using "Convert X"

Not sure if these are really needed when you have the *free* integrated search engines in Alt.binz (Newzleech is one of the best, IMO), and the *free* PAR2 repairing and unraring.  The latter will automatically unpack the rar archive and output the avi - See the Quick Start Guide for more info.  So you just need to search for your files using the Newzleech tab, add them to the queue, download and (after setting up your PAR2 and Unrar options) just sit back and wait for your avi to appear.

lets just hope that newzleech or others dont change their url or cookie policy etc, now RDL has dumped the project, these inbuilt searches may never work again in the future.

Some changes are probably inevitable, although sites like Binsearch haven't changed for years.  But as I learned from Rdl recently, it's quite easy for users to patch the exe using a bog-standard hex editor.  I now have 200 days search with NLSS, for example.  So let's not give up entirely just yet.

Actually, unpacking the exe (i.e. reversing the compression, with upx.exe) is very easy - you need to do it as a first step before using the hex editor anyway, takes 2 seconds.  Or do you mean something else?
