Queue file reset when opening Alt.Binz?
« on: January 15, 2009, 07:33:38 pm »
I newly installed the system AB was running on, and moved the AB folder across to my new installation drive from a backup which I have done before without problems.

When I run AB the queue is empty, although my ~14mb queue file is in the misc folder, when I close the program the file goes down to 1kb.

What could be causing this? How could I fix it?

I'm using the latest free version, 0.25.0

I've tried using an admin account but that doesn't help, tried restoring just the queue file a number of times after it's been reset. Tried re-copying the whole alt.binz folder over again a few times. I don't really know what else to try, other than maybe installing it properly and then copying my queue in, is that likely to help?

Vista or W7? Try deleting all virtual folder crap from users dir then move altbinz with misc dir to root (c:\altbinz) and fire it up

Windows XP Pro actually.

I don't know of any virtual folders from Win XP, but I will try to move it to C:\

O.K I tried that but it didn't help. It maybe should be noted that the par2 list is unaffected by this problem.

I have tried loading in a few nzbs and then closing down and restarting the app, it does not lose these newly added nzbs.

Oh, everything in the temp folder is also being removed at the same time seemingly.

...I've narrowed down the source of the problem. I remembered I had a loss of power to the system last time I was using AB, this has happened to me before with the same result. Completely forgot about it up till now. :)
