Nothing to worry about.

Well I reached mine on 3 computers. You see Rdl uses Hardware ID. I am only using mine on 3 computers and got my account blocked. I'm still waiting for Rdl to fix this. First this should be said on the download page. I change my hardware sometimes 2x a week (I run a computer business) so this made it look like I was using the program on 5 computers. So even though I have not done anything wrong I can't use v0.39.4 and am forced to use v0.28.5 which doesn't use the DRM.   :-\

I writing this post to warn people so they don't need to go through the headache that I have to.  :-[

yep. it'll be formatted and a new OS installed and sold. there will be some overlapping time which both PCs will be up and running (but I dont plan to move the NZB stuff over till im ready to format and reinstall)

Hello SiCwan
This is what happen to me but I change my hardware more often (Sometimes 2x a week). This got my account block (Waiting for Rdl to fix this). What makes me angry is it is not listed anywhere that Rdl uses a Hardware ID. So just be be careful because I am forced to use the older versions that don't have this DRM.

Since you don't reply to PM and you want to do this in public, here it is:

Hello

First I would like to say you have frozen my account.
I have only got my copy (The one I donated to you for) only on 3 computers. My main computer, my Laptop and my work computer (Which in on a different WAN). From the donate page it says I can place my copy of max of 3 computer which I have done. I know my work internet connection is quit unstable so the IP changes a lot. I don't know if this can course trouble. On my home Internet connect it can be unstable at time getting disconnected 2 to 3 times a week + am using a dynamic ip. I'm happy to re donate but I can't see why I am being forced to? I use alt.binz on other computers from a USB drive as a portable program but this is the v0.25.0 which is the free version.  :)

If possible could you please provide me with the IP addresses from the computers that make up the 5. Does your software look at anything else other an the IP? eg. a hardware ID? The reason I say this is I run a computer business and change my Hardware very often.

Sorry about the late reply but I don't jump on the forums that often.

Could you please help me work out this problem?
Thank you for your time.

Nobody forces you to do anything. I've proposed few options for you (which were valid till your account was disabled), you've read my message few days ago and you've decided to reply only after I disabled your account. After reading my message your account was used on 4 computers.

Lets count computers used in last 3 days (after 2012-02-01):
1. Computer with hardware_id hash '02866cff4bdcdc8814d7d49c4f855ed0' also used before (2012-01-11 10:04:40 ...)
2. Computer with hardware_id hash 'fccc38710cb0cedad28260f370aafa15' also used before (2012-01-04 11:12:40 ...)
3. Computer with hardware_id hash 'ab48342dafc4c9bf4ef4565910edc3a2' also used before (2012-01-28 16:32:39 ...)
4. Computer with hardware_id hash '484f9b54d16b35435c0b63a5864d86c5' also used before (2012-01-02 05:29:03 ...)

Computer with hardware_id hash 'ab48342dafc4c9bf4ef4565910edc3a2' is most likely reinstall of 'c48c3f6cf5b2066cbceddec05bfe5aa7' based on the previous usage. And that is fine. But 3 other regulary used computers besides this one is not fine.

Again lie. It's mentioned numerous times what is sent to server for authentication:

-IP
-username
-password hash
-hardware_id hash
-altbinz version

All you have to do is search for it.

About 'forcing' user icepick this is the warning message he got:

Lower the number of computers that you're using altbinz on. Or open up 2nd contributors account and spread the computers.
Currently, I see 5 computers that are used with altbinz often.

Not acting on this in next few days will result in removal from contributors group.

I got reply to this 10 days later after I've removed him from contributors group.

First I replyed to you with in 10 minutes by emailing you back please check you email.
Second this does not give you the right to publish my IP addresses regardless of what you say.  >:( You are now responsible for any damages done to to my connection.
Your DRM is very flawed.

Lets clear something up here. I only got the warning message after my account was blocked because the email address used on this forum has not been used in a long time. So I didn't know there was any problems until my account was blocked. I am very disappoint how this is being handled.

SO I have to read the terms from version v0.30. Something this important should be writing on every release. I would like to read it but can't because I now have limited access. What happens if you just donated and your first version is 0.39.4 you would not know about this.

I replaced 2 computers with SSD's and reinstalled Windows in the last 4 days this would course my hardware_id hash to change.

All of the above was emailed to Rdl around 12 hours ago, before you made my IP addresses public.

I would like account reactivated and a written apology for publishing my IP addresses to the public.

I didn't get any email nor did I sent you one. I only communicated with you via PM.
If you are referring to email notification from forum_at_altbinz.net, I don't understand what part don't you understand:

You have just been sent a personal message by xxx on Alt.Binz forum.

IMPORTANT: Remember, this is just a notification. Please do not reply to this email.

I don't see how would I know if your email address used on this forum is valid. Keeping valid email on this forum is your responsibility.
Rules are clearly stated in EVERY message that has donation link. Link to rules is sent to new contributor once they have been added to contributors group. Link to rules in big red bold font is stated on EVERY download page.
I already proved to you that only one computer has hw_id change and besides that one you use 3 more. That's one more then rules allow. And this is only for the last 3 days. Before this you had 5 REGULARLY USED hw_ids (so, it's not reinstall)

I can't not say why this is?? as you can see over the years I have been a happy user. I still can't see why we can't come to a conclusion to re-activate my account.
I first still can't see why you posted my private IP address to the public?? This is Private information and you have no right to release this.
I was happy to re donate but now after how I have been treated I feel very disappointed I donated to you. I don't won't to support this software if you treat you customers like this.

I am all for solution to this. However I don't appreciate beeing lied to.
All told you and have proved to you that your alt.binz copy was beeing used on more computers then the rules allow. You say you don't know why that is. How should I respond to that.
From the log it's clear you're using on 2 computers on 1 location (home?) and 2 computers on the other location(work?). Maybe somebody is abusing your copy at work?

Also for the record, you were the one dragging this to public, not me. I've sent you PM with color coded log so it would be crystal clear. I never got response. Instead you've started spamming other threads in public.

Just stating the truth clearly from the start is always the best way to go around here. There's always some accommodation that can be reached. But truth-bending & forum-raging just tends to exhaust any natural reserves of good will.

Peace. :)

Like I said I didn't find out about this until yesterday. I have not be lieing to you. I have happily provided information about hardware updates I have changed that might course this problem. The next thing I see is that you have published all of the IP logs to the public without my permission. How would this make you feel.

From the log it's clear you're using on 2 computers on 1 location (home?) and 2 computers on the other location(work?). Maybe somebody is abusing your copy at work?

I need to look into this because most likely this might have happened. What I am going to do is change my forum password.

I was not dragging anything into the public the person was only asking a question and I was answering it with first hand appearance. (This is what happen to me) I can not see how that is spamming the forum? This STILL doesn't give you the right to post another persons private IP addresses logs to the public in your forum.

I have always stated the truth on here. I have even posted some bug reports to help out. Then I get stabbed in the back. All I wanted to know is what was going on and why was this happen so I could solve the problem. Next thing I see is my IP log posted to the public how would that make you feel.

It doesn't help when someone copies exe + configs with stored password.
