"Exceeded Maximum Number Of Connections Per User"
« on: August 05, 2011, 12:12:55 am »
My download speed is at 200kbs, I have a 50Mbs connection.  The problem has been plaguing me for the past 3 days, I am not being throttled by my provider, and I pay through the nose for a "Diamond" account at Giganews, yet I'm getting the above error and this abysmal speed.  I'm running Windows 7, with version 0.25.0 of alt.binz.

So how many connections are you able to make before getting this error? Have you tried different servers & ports?

This Error can have multipe reasons:

- You are using more conections then your allowed (unlikely if it worked before)
- Either your NSP or ISP has problem with the connection. It is possible that connections break and that they are not terminated in this case. This means your NSPs server has this connection still registered as open until it times out. Alt.Binz will open a new connection and your server will see more than allowed and give you that error.

Aproach to reduce this kind of failures:

Do NOT use the max number of connections your NSP provides. Instead starts with 1 connection add more 1 by 1 until you reach your max possible speed. That aproach will also reduce the ressource usage of alt.binz slightly.
