sorting collection list
« on: March 25, 2008, 05:23:58 am »
I found this thread that states how to sort the sub items of the collection https://www.altbinz.net/forum/index.php?topic=316.0  but I can't figure out how to sort the list of collections (the main items named after the .nzb file, not the sub-items that are actually downloaded).  Does Altbinz not have a way to do that or am I just overlooking how?

I linked that thread.  Like I said, that sorts the sub items, not the collection listing it's self.  I want to sort the collections, not the sub items.  so in your example, I'd want to be able to sort 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, not the sub items Like the bach files http://img524.imageshack.us/my.php?image=rootnodesqd2.png, if that's not possible currently, maybe add a sort item to the right click menu that is context sensitive to whether you right click on the collection or sub items, and if you have stuff selected it should only sort that.

I would really suggest that you read the thread again. But this time a bit slower. It's explained how to sort collections amongst themselves (which is what you need) and items inside collections (which is obviously what you already know)

I tried that and it didn't work for me, I have too much loaded to have white space below the collection lists, is that the problem?  how can I do this function then?

Select one collection/item then hold ctrl and then press left mouse button on it. This way collection/item would be deselected. Now that no item is selected you can press column header and sort collections among themselves (that is if you have that option enabled)
