Title: Speed problems with VISTA Ultimate
Post by: stonyzg on January 19, 2008, 01:39:22 pm
Hi,
please try to help on this issue. I'm using VISTA Ultimate.
My server address is NEWS.NEWSGROUP-BINARIES.COM and my port is set to 119. When i connect it says connected and authenticated. The problem is when I try to download the file my download speed is very slow (around 25kB/s). My DSL account is capable to download 250 kB/s. When I switch to Windows XP everything is working perfectly and my download speed is around
225 kB/s.
In advance, thanks for your help.

I have just realized that this is the problem with http also. only diference is that with http my speed is a little bit higher (arond 55 kB/s). Is this a problem with my DSL provider or VISTA, I don't know.

Check your current XP MTU/RWIN settings with http://www.speedguide.net/downloads.php .Then try to apply the same MTU on your Vista box using this tutorial http://www.speedguide.net/downloads.php .

It may help. It won't harm anyway.
