Title: Speed went down!
Post by: ddr4ever on July 08, 2012, 11:17:17 pm
Hey guys! Hows it going? I hope you're doing OK! Since the last couple of days I've experienced a slower download speed. What it usualy was a 4000kbps downlaod speed, now it's half. The visual difference I can notice is that the connections take longer to start downloading. Here's a picutre:

As you can see, most of the connections are not downloading. I remember they were all working at the same time weeks ago. Anyone has any idea of what may be causing this?

I'm on Win 7 64 bit running Avast (email protection disabled).

Have a great day and thanks!

A few things:

1. It's rare to need so many connections. Start with a small number (5-10) and test your speed.  Always use the minimum number of connections to get the maximum speed.

2. Check with your NSP about any server or routing problems on their side.

3. Check your ISP about any potential throttling or network congestion.

4. Disable NNTP checking with Avast - or completely uninstall it and use MSE instead. :)

And please anonymize any posted images.

Thanks! Unfortunately it seems my ISP limited my speed to what it should be (I was getting higher speeds). It was good while it lasted :(
