Troubles while downloading with more then 8MB/s

I have some problems with downloading with more then 8MB/s/ I have recorded the problem:

You can see the download time and MB's but the rest of the interface doesn't work anymore. When I try to pause the downloading (I clicked the button half way the movie). The download speed isn't going futher then 8MB/s while I can download with 11MB/s-12MB/s with other programs such as newsleecher. disable unrar and par doesn't make a difference

I am using windows 2003 32bits and 64bits (both the same problem)

system:
amd 3800+ x2
4GB memory
1x 120gb for os
3x 300gb raid-0 for downloads

OK, a good idea here is to look at your log to see exactly what's happening when Alt.Binz 'freezes'.

Although Alt.Binz has been tested on a faster line than yours, some have reported problems with the decoding thread locking up Alt.Binz with fast downloads (same symptoms), and have been able to solve this by changing the decoder thread priorty & sleep cycle settings in Setup > Miscellaneous #2.

Note: I don't think Alt.Binz has been tested on Windows 2003 by Rdl.

I already changed that setting. I first tryed to solve it in the dutch forum.

What is recommeded voor the lines and sleep time?

Please be discreet when sharing info about your downloads in this forum.

I ask again: from your log, what's happening when Alt.Binz freezes?  Sleep cycles: you really need to read Rdl's post, as it's dependent on your setup.  It may not even be that (check whether your CPU is spiking nonetheless).

Bear in mind that if this is a bug with Alt.Binz that needs fixing, then Rdl is first going to have to be able to reproduce it.  Otherwise he's just going to be guessing.  He's already tested it with a gigabit line, so ...  try as much trouble-shooting and gather as much info on your side as you can.  I know that may not sound very helpful, but such is software development ...

The settings with the lines didn't work

for some reason it was nog allowed to view .log files in iis so I saved it as a text file now. the link should work now.

I have downloaded fine at 12mb/s before, it doesnt freeze but it becomes a bit sluggish and unresponse at times, but either pause it, or be patient with it and its fine.

alt.binz is tested with over 50 MB/s (megabytes/sec). I personally download at 32Mbit/s and have no probs with that speed.

I can't help here because i haven't "played" with them yet.

my system is a amd athlon x2 3800+ (clocked at 2400mhz vs 2000mhz standard). Is this slow?

Well, this is new information.

We're just not getting anywhere with this.  You need to give a full trouble-shooting report, which includes:

1. Temporarily switching off everything that could possibly be interfering with your downloads, inc. firewall & antivirus and any background processes that need heavy I/O.

2. Watch CPU and memory with Proces Explorer or similar while downloading.

3. Give full info about the above, and also a proper list of exactly what you've tried already and how.  "The settings with the lines didn't work" is too vague - exactly what did you try?

As I said, the more info the better.

whoops^^ that speed should be enough (read that wrong)

i download with my 4000+ x2 at 32Mbit and no problem

maybe you have a firewall that slows it down cus it checks each packet?
