Easynews generated nzb's aren't working?

I can use Easynews' search page to find articles. I can download them directly from there, the html page.
I can alternately generate an nzb to allow alt.binz to download, but it doesn't work. The headers list, then immediately alt.binz goes through them and in the end says 'not available. They are though.

Nzb's generated by a poster and downloaded from a newsgroup do work though.

Any help?

Ah, you mean nzb was imported fine, but all articles were 423 not available/found. That's cause easynews has low nntp rentention. FIles are available via http but not via nntp.

I'm having the same problem. All nzbs I tried I always get "423 No Such article in group" error and I know that it must still be on the server since they are only 8 days old?? I love the way program looks but it doesn't work?

In case you haven't realized this thread is 2 years old , however it is still relevant right now with easynews's current web interface issues the past weeks. I suggest you take a look at the user forums regarding their current status.

Yep, I realize that thread is old but it just happened to me so...I decided to drop easynews since their retention over NNTP is poor. Testing Astraweb now and it seems to be doing much better.

On another note: Is there a way to read articles from inside Alt.binz. I can download groups list and can check them into favorites but how to open them for reading articles?? Thanks!

Alt.Binz doesn't handle headers, so you can't.  Ignore the Newsgroups tab. Please take a few moments to read through the Wiki.

If you are using the wrong server - like news.easynews.com - it will fail on a lot of NZBs. If, however, you use the right one, like news.eu.easynews.com, it will magically work. I had a buddy pulling out hairs for months, before I finally decided to go through his settings. He had the exact same problem and it was solved by changing the server to the above.
