Title: Using the newsgroup tab?

How is the newsgroup tab used?  i can do a search for newsgroups and make some favorites but dont know what i can do from there.  can i do a binaries search of the newsgroup (like newsbin pro)  or does this work in conjunction to the other tabs (ie use binsearch on a particular group).  i looked at the FAQs and the forums but didnt see anything.

The Newsgroups tab is for Xpat searching only, so you can safely ignore it.

To use the *completely different* favourite groups feature for searching with e.g. Binsearch, follow the Wiki here:

thanks for the quick reply!!  are there any plans for a binary listing feature like the one in newsbin?  its really great to see the files that are in each group (sometimes not all files go into the search tools.

is there an option in the program to query a single group (alt.binaries.hdtv lets say) for all the binaries that are in it? (not from a search tool but from the the newsgroup server).

There's no header downloading with Alt.Binz, so from your server: no.

But actually it's quicker and easier to use the Browse feature on Newzleech, Binsearch etc. tabs - if the group is indexed by the site of course.   Best to try it and see, you may like it.   Or so said the bishop to the nun. ;)

Alternatively, on the Newzbin tab, enter desired group in Groups box, but leave Search box blank, then click Search button ...

i dont see a newzbin tab, is this on the new version (im using .25)

Yep, is available only in the latest version to contributors
