Question about re-downloading
« on: July 15, 2011, 02:34:09 pm »
Every now and then Alt.Binz (freeware version) seems to 'hang' in the decoding of files.

It makes .rarx files, after that .rarxx after that .rarxxx
I've had my 2TB completely filled up with .rarxxxx(etc) files.
it created about 8k files in ~45 minutes.

If it only happened once, i'd be OK with it, but this happens like every other day.

Age of posts is irrelevant, had it on 24h posts and on 360d+ posts.
Par checking option is irrelevant, same with unrar.

What option is there to STOP re-creating and/or re-downloading files?
I'd rather do it manually then wipe 8k files off my disk..

I would say, that you have set autonzb import folder the same as download folder.

No, that is not the case. i don't use auto import... Also it does not happen on every file in the nzb ... sometimes it's 30-60% wich keeps being decoded (alt.binz keeps standing on decoding)

So i even blamed my hardrive for it, replaced it, same thing
Then i blamed hard drive speed, so made a 4 disk raid 0 config, 500MB/s writespeed... it even filled up faster then i could delete :-)

Closing and re-opening Alt.Binz and removing the files from the queue is the only solution for it ...
However, it does not fix the issue from happening.

Could be some old bug then. I can't recall anyone reporting anything similar in recent versions.

Also, did you check your detailed log for errors in decoding thread?

Hi,

I'm using the public version and also have the same problems. Within half an hour my whole 2 TB drive is full when this happens.

I have now changed tool to UNZbin.

However, if it can be guaranteed that this problem will not manifest itself in the payed version (paypal) of alt.binz I would be more then happy to pay the EUR 15.
