Leave failed downloads in queue
« on: September 28, 2008, 09:20:49 am »
If a file can't be downloaded due to "Article not found" errors, I'd like it to remain in the download queue (or possibly moved to another queue) instead of just disappearing.  That way I can try re-starting it again later, possibly with another server, or at least I'll know what files I missed without having to study the logs.

you can do that with a little "trick":

goto setup -> connection and set retry count to 1 and time between retries to a high number.

that means alt.binz will save that file for the time you set and then retries to download it.

+1 from me, to include a status message in the status column, this would make things a lot clearer and easier to debug stuff.

The problem is that I had to set both of those values to 0 in order to get the desired behavior with my fallback server.  Ie, I have two servers, configured as a primary and a backup, and I want Alt.Binz to try getting all the articles from my primary server, and if any articles are missing from the primary server then immediately try getting them from the backup server.  And if they're not found on either server, then stop retrying until I look into the matter and manually restart the file.
