This is an issue that I have been dealing with ever since arriving on the usenet newsgroups scene.
When you happen to find a NZB either from an index site or other form, many times the original *.PAR2 file is missing.
This in-turn makes auto-repair and auto-unrar completly useless as there is no PAR2 file in the first place.
What works 100% all the time is using any one of the *vol000+01*.PAR2 files. It can be any size really because any *.PAR2 file contains the data for the file you are downloading.
My suggestion is that in the event that no original *.PAR2 file came with the NZB that 'Alt.Binz' automatically un-pauses the smallest of the recovery *.PAR2 files - the *vol000+01.PAR2 file.
This in-turn will enable the Alt.Binz automation of repairing/unraring etc to proceed without user intervention = less downtime and more TV watching
It's a hell of a job to manually do this for a huge list of NZB downloads where the original *.PAR2 files are missing.
All I'm trying to achieve here is notify and/or suggest this feature in the future. It will make Alt.Binz more "NZB-Proof" by taking the initiative to know how to handle NZB files that were packaged/created incorrectly.
Obviously when downloading a NZB without recovery *.PAR2 files this would not work, but 99% of the time I find that there's always recovery *.PAR2's packaged with the NZB file.
Let me know if anyone wants further clarification, and if you're in the same boat as I am, which I'm sure many users would be but not know it.....yet
