Combine features of Auto Unrar and NZB Play.
« on: May 13, 2008, 08:52:12 am »
I recently aquired a Popcorn Hour A100 Media Player, which is great, I store my 'to watch' content on the hard drive, the player supports playing incomplete files, however I'd like Alt.Binz to do something that shouldn't be too hard to implement.

I currently have Alt.Binz setup to automaticaly unrar the archive over the network to the PH's internal hard drive, this is great, however it only does it when the download is complete, I'd like an option to automaticly unrar, the way the NZB Play feature works, but without executing a media player.

So I'd load an NZB, start it downloading, manually set an unrar folder, then rightclick and select unrar and have it work like NZB Play, but unrar, rar by rar, to my Auto Unrar folder, then when the download is 100% complete, do what it would normally do with auto unrar.. copy nfos sfvs delete achives and source folder as usual.

Or am I just blind and this is already implemented?

Thanks.

Thanks.

just delete the mediaplayer path in the nzbplay settings then there is no mediaplayer started. if u put dl dir and unrar dir indentical the nzb play should start unrar after first rar downloaded.

Id like to avoid downloading the archives to the media player, then extracting them from the media player to the media player again. While playing the video file on the media player, a large amount of HDD crunching would be going on, not to mention fragmentation.

just tried it. in my test the unrar took place just after the first rar was decoded and the unrar folder was created so if you delete the mediaplayer path in the settings it should be working

I don't want to use NZB Play, I want to use Auto Unrar.

NZB Play extracts the file to the download location, not the auto unrar location, I want the archives and the unrar location to be different.

With 'path to players exe' left blank, it executes media player classic.

Basicly I want a feature in the Auto Unrar settings, a checkbox, to enable and disable extracting from the moment the first rar appears, and also for it to work if I rightclick and select 'unrar' as I don't always want the NZB to be automatically unrared. (I might be downloading a none media file that I'd rather keep the archives)

To be clear: currently the only way I can get the file to extract before it has finished downloading is by rightclicking and press play, this extracts to the download folder (not what I want), is messy (not what I want, it doesnt co-operate with autounrar, which is where i would preffer to feature to lay), and it pops up a media player that I dont want to use (my media player is a media device sitting in my lounge room).
