"Do not download" based on subject and download history

Hey Guys. There is a bunch of content on UseNet being "reposted' of late with identical subjects. Without having to change RSS filters weekly, there is no way I can see of avoiding the content being added from the RSS feeds.

Whilst there is a "Skip if file is already downloaded" option, it doesn't work if the rar files have changed.

Would it be possible to add an option that skips/ignores/does not download identical subjects previously downloaded (i.e. still in the download history of the stats)?

With the number of duplicate shows being put on UseNet of late, if I use RSS and leave Alt.Binz connected, then its constantly redownloading stuff that it's already downloaded.

For those who aren't on unlimited UseNet accounts, that means it's wasting money.
For those who aren't on unlimited internet accounts, then that's a double whammy.

So instead I have to leave Alt.Binz disconnected, I have to regularly check the queue to ensure that what's been added isn't a duplicate and delete the items which are, and always ensure that I disconnect it once it's done downloading...

As it stands, it has basically made using RSS in Alt.Binz pointless.
Maybe this should be categorised as a bug to be fixed rather than a feature request?

Improved duplicate detection system would be welcome indeed especially these days with (sometimes welcome) reposts. Usually the name of the file is the same with REPOST at the end. Is there a way to use this as a way to remember a file has been already downloaded?

Hey domdom.
If the name has "REPOST" attached to it, the that is easy to exclude already:
*repost* | D

The problem is all the reposts which DONT have repost, and thus there is no way to I'm aware of to stop, except not using the RSS feature or not using Alt.Binz (thus far, those are the only two options given to me by people on other forums... pretty sad options for Alt.Binz users!)

just added a "generic" *repost* | D on top of my filters but it still pick episodes that match other lines if you see what I mean.
Can I just add 1 line with this *repost* | D to not d/l all repost or do I need 2 lines per show? it seems that the repost D filter will not take over for any repost. Trying to be clear

So you should add your | D at the end, not the start, of your filter list.

Thanks, I didnt notice this detail.
Would you know why "repost" show a slightly different color on the percentage? is it because it was already downloaded and therefore not unrared again?
