Download/Unrar Folder Favorites
« on: January 13, 2008, 01:42:43 pm »
I like to dl and unrar to 6 or 7 different folders depending on what the content is. right now i must alway browse through some folders to get to the location. it would be much faster if there was an extra dropdown menue with my favorites very simular the the favorites in the explorer tab. maybe it is possible to just have the same favorites in the dropdown menue.

I second this, would be a really useful feature.

For example, when you add something to the queue from one of the search tabs, there's an option to select previous NZB names. Something like that for folders would be great!

I was coming here to suggest this feature ^^ So +1 for me too, I've 3 ou 4 download directories to separate kind of contents. It could be great if we can name them like in µTorrent for example  ;)

Maybe you should take a look at the requestslist  :o
Maybe you are number 20031 on that list.  ::)
Maybe Rdl should make a 100 X clone of himself?

(Omg.., 101 Rdl's on this planet)

Regards, Gompy

You'll just have to wait for the magic "Added" to appear, like the rest of us.  Rdl moves in mysterious ways.  :)

I must say i can't picture that, but what i had in mind was somthing like this:

where the black dots are a dropdown menue, where you can select a number of predefined locations (best would be the favorites from the explorer tab, since normaly the download locations r the ones you use most in the explorer tab)

a drop down with the last 10 folder only makes sense if there are no doubles in them. For example the last ten are actually  5x location A 5x location B before that 2 x location C 4 x location D. of you have doubles u only have the choises A or B, but the object would be to have a quick way to enter 5-10 different (standard) locations

1. As for me, I have a preference for buttons under the path with favorites folder like in AB "explorer". Maybe a dropdown too for the "recent folders" :)

2. Why not taking advantage of this work to also improve the system ? Sometimes I don't look at the content of a collection to see if it has archives of no archives files (especialy for albums or applications, sometimes they have, sometimes no).

When download is over, I don't remember where I can find my files : in the download or the unrar folder destination ?  ??? Is someone has ever had this problem ?

I make a suggestion for this :
- Keep the "download to" item but remove the "unrar to" one
- Instead of it create a "Final folder" entry :
> where archives will be unrared
> where simple files will be moved from download folder if AB doesn't detect any archives in the collection.

What do you think of that ?  ;)
