I get a few nzbs
Some may be completely removed
Altbinz zips though and goes to the next on win the queue, if one has been removed
I need to know it has SKIPPED the nzb files (that don't exist)
-
I automate using Sickbeard
or
Queue overnight
Both methods need an indicator that one or more of the items didn't download.
--
Even if it was just creating an empty folder
But better would be leaving it in the altninz list with some kind of indication that no files were downloaded?
--
Please
or is there a workaround?
-
What are your thoughts?
Is there a work around so I know if this is happening?
Typo earlier
Altbinz zips though and goes to the next one in the queue, if one has been removed
-
i set so they are imported as paused
then i unpause starting from the bottom to see if they are going from 0%-100% in 1 second
its a work around
but i wish Altbinz detected when this error was happening so i could know if it has "skipped a file"
Cheers

I'm not clear exactly what it is you're asking for, but do you mean Setup > Misc #3 > 'Pause collection when articles were removed by usenet provider'?
For everything else, there is of course the Log tab ...

Hi
Thanks for getting back to me
Problem is "when an NZB references files that have been removed... i don't realise that it hasn't downloaded anything, unless I'm at the computer, and see it happen"
Workflow 1
1 NZB Files queued in Altbinz (4 hours worth)
2 I go and do something else
3 One or more of the NZB files downloads nothing
4 Altbinz goes from 0% to 100% in 3 seconds
5 It is removed from the list
6 I return
7 there is nothing in the queue to indicate the error happened
8 there is no empty folder to indicate the error happened
9 I realise when i watch the next eppisode that Ive skipped one
Workflow
1 Altbinz running (although it seems to hang quite a bit when i leave it running)
NZB Files retrieved from a watched folder.
:D
looking for a indication that the nzb was totally skipped because it wasn't there
2 solutions
1 altbinz notices this has happened that there were no files and leave an indication on the list - Different colour paused or something -
or
2 Create a folder first (create folder by nzb name) - If its empty I'll know it has happened

Depends what you mean by "removed by provider". See that option under Misc #3 for handling takedowns, there's also one just underneath to pause collection if not enough par2s are available to repair, this should also do the trick - enable them both.
Otherwise, when Alt.Binz is finished with a collection, if it still contains any paused items it won't be removed from the queue by default. If you have PAR2 auto-unpausing set up right, and have disabled auto-cleanup, the collections will still be in the queue after dl containing the paused par2s. And you'll be able to see clearly on the PAR2 tab what hasn't unrared.
And as also mentioned, the Log tab contains a full record (errors in RED). So you have Download, PAR2 or Log tabs to choose from. Oh, and the stats page. I really don't see how creating empty folders in your file system is any easier than these options.
Otherwise: remember that the download queue is not a download *log*. It's a queue of items waiting for dl ... the functions shouldn't be confused or mixed IMHO.

I suppose i realise the log and queue are different

didn't work with these settings

The log is pages of gobbledegook - not really the best option

Could you explain how this should be set up in more detail , i don't understand?
I have auto cleanup every 0 minutes?
and
both boxes unticked
disappears after not downloading anything

Thanks for your replies Hecks
I've really been a bit disillusioned by altbinz in the last few weeks
Lately Altbinz has not been best random hanging and crashing AppHangB1
I suggested it to my friend on windows 8.1 and it didn't work at all
I get these all the time now
especially if i leave the app running
